1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy explains how Foubeez (“Foubeez,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects personal data when you use the Foubeez applications, website, APIs, social features, messaging, marketplace, advertising tools, wallet, verification, and related services (the “Service”). Foubeez is the service operator and controller of the data described here. You can contact us through the in-app Help Center or the contact method published on the Foubeez website.
2. Data we collect
Account and profile data: display name, username, email address, phone number, password hash, account identifiers, profile photo, biography, language, theme, privacy choices, verification state, age or eligibility confirmations where used, and account creation or deletion dates.
Content and social activity: photos, videos, audio, captions, posts, stories, reels, comments, mentions, reactions, follows, follow requests, saved-item references, shares, reports, blocks, moderation decisions, content visibility, timestamps, and associated technical metadata.
Communications: direct messages, attachments, replies, delivery and read state, conversation participants, and support communications. Unless expressly stated otherwise, messages are not end-to-end encrypted. We process their content to deliver and synchronize them, protect the Service, and review a conversation when it is reported or when law requires it.
Marketplace and delivery data: product listings and images, category, condition, price, stock, discount, seller information, cart, orders, buyer notes, recipient name, phone, delivery address, shipping or pickup information, tracking details, returns, refunds, disputes, and buyer/seller communications.
Wallet, advertising, and transaction data: wallet balances and ledger entries, top-ups, transfers, recipient identifiers, withdrawals and payout details, seller proceeds, platform commission, campaign content, audience locale selection, budget, impressions, clicks, payment status, currency, provider transaction references, chargebacks, refunds, and fraud indicators. Payment providers collect card, bank, or PayPal credentials directly; Foubeez generally receives tokens, references, status, and limited billing information rather than complete card numbers.
Identity and verification data: legal name, country, verification category, reason, and documents you choose to submit, such as a passport, national ID, driver licence, or business document. This information is sensitive and is restricted to authorized reviewers and service personnel who need it.
Device, security, and log data: IP address, user agent, operating system and app platform, app version, device and push-notification token, login and token events, session timestamps, language, crash or diagnostic information made available to us, API requests, security events, and approximate locale inferred from your settings or network. We do not request precise device location for the current Service.
Camera, microphone, photos, files, biometrics, and local storage: with device permission, the app can access media you select or capture for posts, stories, messages, products, or verification. Optional Face ID, Touch ID, or Android biometric checks are performed by the operating system; Foubeez does not receive or store your biometric template. The app stores session credentials securely and may cache images, video segments, translations, and settings on your device for performance and offline continuity. Cache entries are limited and cleaned automatically according to app storage rules.
Social sign-in data: social sign-in providers are disabled unless Foubeez enables and configures them. If you choose an enabled provider, we may receive its user identifier, name, email, avatar, and authentication result, subject to the provider’s permission screen and privacy policy.
We collect data directly from you, automatically from your device and use of the Service, from other users who interact with or report you, from payment and delivery providers, and from social sign-in providers you choose.
3. Why we use data
We use data to:
• create, authenticate, secure, recover, personalize, and administer accounts;
• publish and deliver content according to privacy settings; operate feeds, stories, reels, comments, following, search, saving, sharing, messaging, and notifications;
• process marketplace listings, orders, delivery, wallet operations, seller proceeds, commissions, advertising campaigns, payments, refunds, transfers, and withdrawals;
• provide support, verification, reporting, blocking, moderation, appeals, and enforcement;
• detect spam, fraud, abuse, unsafe content, account compromise, payment risk, and technical failures;
• measure Service performance and aggregate engagement, including advertising impressions and clicks;
• comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, sanctions, anti-fraud, court, and other legal obligations; and
• establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and protect users, Foubeez, and the public.
Where applicable, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent for optional permissions or communications, and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it, but prior lawful processing remains valid.
4. How data is shared
With other users and the public: your public profile and public content can be viewed and reshared by others. Followers-only or private content is shown according to your settings, but recipients may still capture or disclose what they receive. Interaction counts and some activity may be visible.
With marketplace participants: sellers receive order and delivery information needed to fulfil purchases; buyers receive seller, product, fulfilment, and tracking information. Do not use this information for unrelated marketing or disclosure.
With processors and providers: we share only necessary data with hosting, database, storage or CDN, email or messaging gateways, Firebase/Google push notifications, security, customer-support, media-processing, and payment providers such as Stripe, PayPal, Apple, and Google. These providers process data under their own terms and, where applicable, contracts requiring appropriate protection. Secret payment credentials remain on the Foubeez server and are never sent to the mobile app.
For safety and law: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, respond to emergencies, investigate fraud or child-safety threats, enforce our agreements, or protect rights and safety.
Business changes: data may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality and continued protection.
We do not sell your personal data for money. If a future advertising or data practice legally constitutes “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising in your jurisdiction, we will provide the required notice and choice before applying it.
5. Advertising and recommendations
Foubeez displays labelled sponsored posts in feeds, reels, stories, or other placements. Current campaign selection may use placement, content eligibility, and language or locale; we record deduplicated impressions and clicks for delivery, billing, fraud prevention, and reporting. We do not provide advertisers with your direct contact details merely because you saw or clicked an advertisement. Following a sponsor link takes you to a destination controlled by that advertiser.
6. Retention
We retain account and Service data while your account is active and as needed for the purposes above. Content remains until you delete it, it expires (for time-limited stories), or it is removed. Messages and order communications may remain for participants and record integrity. Device tokens are retained until invalidated, replaced, or unregistered. Verification documents are retained only for review, fraud prevention, appeals, and legal needs, with access restricted.
After account deletion, we delete or de-identify personal data from active systems within a reasonable operational period. Backups are isolated and expire through a limited rotation rather than being restored for ordinary use. We may retain transaction ledgers, invoices, tax and accounting records, payment and withdrawal evidence, fraud and security logs, dispute and moderation evidence, and data necessary for legal claims for the period required by applicable law or a legitimate documented need. We may retain non-identifying aggregate statistics.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to know or access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, receive portable data, and complain to a data-protection authority. You may manage profile visibility, private-account status, follows, blocks, notifications, language, theme, PIN and biometric lock, saved content, and certain permissions in the app or device settings.
You can request full account deletion in the app under Settings. You can also use the public Account Deletion page on the Foubeez website. Deactivation alone is not treated as deletion. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request and explain any lawful retention exception. To exercise another privacy right, use the in-app Help Center or the contact method published on our website. Authorized agents may be required to provide proof of authority.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, password hashing, hashed and rotating authentication tokens, server-side validation, restricted administrator permissions, audit logs, transaction idempotency, and limited access to sensitive documents. Payment webhooks must be authenticated before balances or payment states are changed. No system is perfectly secure; protect your credentials and report suspected compromise promptly.
9. International processing
Foubeez and its providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where law requires, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers and require providers to protect data consistently with this Policy. Local authorities may have lawful access under their legal systems.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and users must also meet the minimum digital-consent age in their country. We do not knowingly collect a child’s data contrary to law. If you believe a child is using the Service unlawfully or child-safety material appears, report it immediately through the in-app reporting tools or Help Center. We may remove the account and data, preserve evidence where required, and notify competent authorities.
11. Third-party services and links
Websites, sellers, payment providers, app stores, and services reached through Foubeez have their own privacy practices. Review their notices before giving them information. Foubeez is not responsible for an independent third party’s practices.
12. Policy changes
We may update this Policy when features, providers, laws, or data practices change. We will update the date and provide prominent notice or request consent when legally required. Materially different processing will not be applied retroactively where prohibited.
